NSMQ 2026: Serwaa Nyarko Girls’ SHS, T. I. AMASS - Kumasi, Armed Forces SHTS and St. Joseph’s Sem. SHS qualify for Nationals as Ashanti qualifiers intensify

Serwaa Nyarko Girls’ SHS, T. I. AMASS, Kumasi, Armed Forces SHTS and St. Joseph’s Seminary SHS have secured qualification to the 2026 National Science & Maths Quiz nationals after winning their respective contests.
The results added more excitement to the Ashanti Regional Qualifiers, where the race for national slots continued to produce tight finishes and dominant performances in equal measure.
Serwaa Nyarko Girls’ SHS edge tight three-way battle in Contest Eight
In the day's first contest, Serwaa Nyarko Girls’ SHS held off Wesley High School, Bekwai and Adu Gyamfi SHS in a closely fought contest. Serwaa Nyarko Girls’ SHS finished with 49 points, just one point ahead of Wesley High School, Bekwai, who scored 48 points. Adu Gyamfi SHS followed closely with 46 points, while Tawheed SHS ended the contest with eight (08) points.

T. I. AMASS, Kumasi top Uthmaniya SHS and Nyinahin Catholic SHS in Contest Nine
The next contest was also competitive, but T. I. AMASS, Kumasi (REAL AMASS) pulled away in the second round to top the chart with 56 points. Uthmaniya SHS scored 24 points, while Nyinahin Catholic SHS finished with 23 points.

Armed Forces SHTS powers past Bosome SHTS & Prince of Peace Girls’ SHS in Contest Ten
For the third contest, Armed Forces SHTS took control to end with 52 points and secure qualification slot to the Nationals. Bosome SHTS and Prince of Peace Girls’ SHS both finished with 20 points apiece. The team from Armed Forces SHTS added a flourish to their impressive display, answering three out of four riddles in the final round.

St. Joseph’s Seminary SHS dominates Contest Eleven with 60 points
The final contest in the sequence saw St. Joseph’s Seminary SHS produce a composed display to win Contest 11 with 60 points. Nkawie SHTS came second with 25 points, while Wesley High School, Konongo and Otumfuo Osei Tutu II College were locked at 22 points each.
St. Joseph's Seminary SHS were also awared a GOIL Riddle Bonanza award for answering three out of four riddles correctly.

The Ashanti Regional Qualifiers continue on Tuesday, July 28, 2026 and end on Thursday, July 30, 2026.
