NSMQ 2026: FINAL RANKING OF REGIONAL QUALIFIER TOP RUNNERS-UP

Six Slots Remain as Four Schools Battle for Final NSMQ Places

The race for qualification to the 2026 National Science & Maths Quiz (NSMQ) National Championship has entered its final stage, with six slots still available for schools that lost their regional qualifying contests.

Primetime Limited, initially announced that the 30 highest-ranked runners-up would earn places at the National Championship. However, six additional slots are currently vacant, creating an opportunity for more high-performing schools to qualify. The top-runners-up ranking is used to select schools that performed strongly despite failing to win their respective contests.

Four schools are currently tied on 37 points and share positions from 35th on the ranking. With only two places available, the schools will face one another in a decisive tiebreaker contest in Accra on Wednesday.

The top two schools in the tiebreaker will secure the final places at the National Championship.
