NSMQ 2026: Sekondi College, Shama SHS and Adiembra SHS qualify as Western Region qualifiers end on a dramatic note

Sekondi College, Shama SHS and Adiembra SHS have secured qualification to the 2026 National Championship after winning their contests on the final day of the Western Regional Qualifiers.

The day produced a blend of commanding wins and a tense finish, with Sekondi College setting the pace in Contest Five, Shama SHS surviving a close battle in Contest Six, and Adiembra SHS completing the day with a composed performance in Contest Four.

Sekondi College storms through Contest Five

Sekondi College (SEKCO) delivered the biggest statement of the day in Contest Five, dominating the contest with 73 points. Bompeh SHTS followed with 26 points, while Annoh Adjaye SHS finished on 7 points.

SEKCO also answered 4/4 Riddles to earn the GOIL Riddle Bonanza

It was a one-sided affair for much of the contest, as SEKCO asserted control early and never looked back on the way to qualification.

Shama SHS survives late pressure in Contest SIx

Contest Six was far tighter, with Shama SHS edging Fiaseman SHS by just four points. Shama SHS finished with 40 points, while Fiaseman SHS posted 36 points and Methodist SHS ended with 17 points.

The result kept the tension high right to the finish, as both schools stayed within striking distance for much of the contest.

Adiembra SHS finishes strong in Contest Four

Adiembra SHS wrapped up the day with a solid win in Contest Four, scoring 45 points to beat Kwame Nkrumah SHS, Nsein and Fiaseman SHS. Kwame Nkrumah SHS, Nsein finished with 23 points, while Fiaseman SHS, who joined the contest after late withdrawals reduced the field to two schools, recorded 12 points.

The added twist did little to unsettle Adiembra SHS, who kept their focus and sealed a deserved victory to close out the Western Region’s second day of competition.
