NSMQ 2026: O’reilly SHS, Fafraha Community SHS and Accra High Light Up the Contest Stage in Greater Accra Regionals

The Greater Accra qualifiers on Day 2 delivered a thrilling mix of tight finishes, bold performances and rising tension as schools battled for a place in the next stage of the National Science & Maths Quiz. With every point earned under pressure, the contest floor was alive with energy, confidence and school pride.

O'reilly SHS buzz to victory in Contest Five

O’reilly SHS set the pace in Contest 5, powering to 39 points to secure the win. Tema Methodist Day SHS put up a strong fight and finished with 33 points, while PRESEC, Osu stayed in contention with 30 points in a closely-contested battle.

Frafraha Community SHS edge Tema Methodist Day SHS in close Contest Four

Fafraha Community SHS turned in one of the standout performances of the day, leading Contest 5 with 44 points. Tema Methodist Day SHS followed closely with 40 points, but Ada SHS, on 33 points, could not quite close the gap in another tense encounter.

Tema Methodist Day SHS took full advantage as a Top Runner-up in this contest, when an extra school was needed to ensure the minimum number of schools.

Accra High School powers through Contest Six

Accra High School produced the most dominant showing of the day, storming to 49 points in Contest 6. PRESEC, Osu posted 34 points, while Prampram SHS ended on 23 points after a hard-fought but challenging contest.

The Regional Qualifiers continue on Saturday, August 1, 2026 with contests in the Bono, Ahafo, Volta and Greater Accra regions. A total of 30 Top Runners-Up nationwide still stand the chance to qualify for the National Championship.
