NSMQ 2026: Nsutaman Catholic SHS, Simms SHS, Okomfo Anokye SHS and St. Monica’s SHS qualify as Ashanti qualifiers deliver another thrilling day

Nsutaman Catholic SHS, Simms SHS, Okomfo Anokye SHS and St. Monica’s SHS have secured qualification to the 2026 National Championship after emerging victorious on Day Four of the Ashanti Regional Qualifiers.


The day delivered a mix of tight contests and decisive finishes, with some schools pulling away late while others had to dig deep to survive pressure from close challengers.


Nsutaman Catholic SHS edges a strong KNUST SHS challenge in Contest Twelve

Nsutaman Catholic SHS opened the day with a hard-fought win over KNUST SHS in Contest 12. Nsutaman Catholic SHS finished with 54 points, ahead of KNUST SHS’s 49, while Kofi Agyei SHTS scored 38 points and Konadu Yiadom Catholic SHS ended with 20 points.

It was a contest that stayed competitive for most of the first three rounds, but Nsutaman Catholic SHS found the extra push needed to keep their qualification hopes alive in the end.


Simms SHS survives SDA SHS, Bekwai pressure in Contest Thirteen

Contest 13 produced one of the closest finishes of the day, as Simms SHS held off SDA SHS, Bekwai to win with 46 points. SDA SHS, Bekwai finished just one point behind on 45, while Ofoase SHTS and Adanwomase SHS scored 20 and 10 points respectively.


The battle between the top two schools kept the contest alive until the end, but Simms SHS stood firm when it mattered most.


Okomfo Anokye SHS powers through a crowded field in Contest Fourteen

Okomfo Anokye SHS turned in a composed performance in Contest 14 to top the table with 47 points. Namong SHS followed closely with 44 points, while Effiduase Sen. High Commercial SHS posted 35 points.


Agric Nzema SHS finished with 30 points, and Dadease Agric SHS closed the contest with 22 points.


St. Monica’s SHS prevails in a tense Contest FIfteen

St. Monica’s SHS wrapped up the day with a narrow win in Contest 15, scoring 49 points to edge Presby SHS, Bompata, who finished with 47 points. Bodwesango SHS could not find momentum and ended the contest with 1 point.

The final contest of the day brought plenty of suspense, but St. Monica’s SHS kept their composure to seal the win and add another confirmed school to the Ashanti Region's tally.

The Ashanti Regional Qualifiers continue on Wednesday, July 29, 2026 and end on Thursday, July 30, 2026. A total of 30 Top Runners-Up nationwide still stand the chance to qualify for the National Championship.
