NSMQ 2026: Greater Accra Opens with Fire as First-Day Battles Deliver Big Wins for TEMASCO, AGISS and St. John's Grammar

The first day of contests in Greater Accra wasted no time in serving the drama, tension, and brilliance that NSMQ fans crave. Three contests, three intense battles, and three schools stood tallest when the dust settled.
Tema Secondary School lead the charge in Contest 1
Tema Secondary School (TEMASCO) set the tone for the day with a strong 55 points, edging out Wesley Grammar School, who followed closely with 44 points. Lashibi Community SHS ended on 25 points, while Nungua SHS finished with 22 points in a contest that kept the pressure on from start to finish.
Accra Girls’ SHS shine bright in Contest 2
Accra Girls’ SHS (AGISS) came through with a commanding 56 points to take Contest 2, holding off a spirited St Mary’s SHS side that scored 46 points. Christian Methodist SHS finished with 26 points, and Holy Trinity Cathedral SHS closed the contest with 25 points.
St. John’s Grammar School make a statement in Contest 3
St. John’s Grammar School emerged victorious in Contest 3 with 56 points, showing strength and control in a competitive field. Our Lady of Mercy SHS posted 37 points, Kwabenya Community SHS secured 34 points, and Accra STEM Academy wrapped up with 16 points.

It was a strong opening day in Greater Accra, with Tema Secondary School, Accra Girls’ SHS, and St. John’s Grammar School all announcing themselves in style. If this first day is anything to go by, the region is set for more explosive contests ahead. Here are the scores for the day.
The Regional Qualifiers continue on Friday, July 31, 2026 with contests in the Bono and Greater Accra regions.
