NSMQ 2026: Fijai SHS shines brightest as Amenfiman and Tarkwa also book Western Region spots

Amenfiman SHS, Tarkwa SHS and Fijai SHS have booked their places at the 2026 National Championship after emerging victorious on Day One of the Western Regional Qualifiers.
The opening day delivered a mix of commanding performances and competitive moments, as the three schools powered through their respective contests to secure qualification.
Amenfiman SHS set the pace in Contest One
Amenfiman SHS announced themselves strongly in the opening contest, finishing on 61 points to top the field. St. Mary’s Boys’ SHS put up a spirited fight with 48 points, while Ahantaman Girls’ SHS followed closely on 44 points.
Huni Valley SHS completed the contest with 21 points as Amenfiman SHS took an early grip on the day.
Tarkwa SHS stays in control in Contest Two against Nkroful Agric SHS and Mpohor SHS
Tarkwa SHS produced a composed performance in Contest 2 to emerge winners with 49 points. Nkroful Agric SHS finished with 25 points, while Mpohor SHS ended the contest on nine points.
It was a steady and controlled display from Tarkwa SHS, who did just enough to keep their qualification hopes alive and ultimately seal the win.
Fijai SHS lights up the day with thrilling showcase in Contest Three
Fijai SHS delivered the most emphatic result of the day in Contest 3, cruising to an impressive 74 points. Daboase SHTS followed with 30 points, while Prestea SHTS finished on 22 points.
With a dominant showing from start to finish, Fijai SHS stamped their authority on the contest and rounded off a strong opening day for the Western Region qualifiers.
