NSMQ 2026: Aggrey Memorial Zion SHS, Nyakrom SHTS, Boa Amponsem SHS and Holy Child School qualify on Day Two in Cape Coast

In a day of nerve-wracking moments, Aggrey Memorial Zion SHS, Nyakrom SHTS, Boa Amponsem SHS and Holy Child School sailed through to the National Championship after winning their qualifier contests.

Aggrey Memorial Zion SHS unassailable in Contest One

The purple and yellow affair took over Cape Coast in the day’s first contest between Aggrey Memorial Zion SHS, SDA SHS - Gomoa, Komenda SHTS and Dunkwa SHTS. After a thrilling performance over four rounds, Aggrey Memorial Zion SHS won with a whopping 51 points, against SDA SHS, Gomoa’s 37 points, Komenda SHTS’s 23 points and Dunkwa SHTS’s 16 points.

Nyakrom SHTS makes it for back-to-back Nationals in Contest Four

Nyakrom SHTS qualified for the second consecutive time to the National Championship with an impressive 60 points. Their journey to the Nationals this year evolved ousting Jukwa SHTS who gained 39 points,while both Aburaman SHS and Assin Nsuta SHS ended the contest with 21 points.

Boa Amponsem SHS qualifies with 29-point margin in Contest Five

After a thoroughly enjoyable display, Boa Amponsem SHS emerged victorious in Contest Five with 62 points. Oguaa SHTS, Obiri Yeboah SHS and Breman Asikuma SHS finished with 33 points, 21 points and 20 points respectively.

Holy Child School wins tense tie-breaker against Mankessim SHTS in Contest Six

In the day’s last contest, Holy Child School overcame Mankessim SHTS after both schools were tied after the last round. After failing to qualify for the Nationals in 2024 and 2025, Holy Child School nearly lost to second-year Mankessim SHTS students.

Assin North SHTS and Academy of Christ the King sat out the tie-breaker after ending the contest with 26 and 21 points respectively.

At the end of the second day, here are the scores from Cape Coast. 

Congratulations to Aggrey Memorial Zion SHS, Nyakrom SHTS, Boa Amponsem SHS and Holy Child School for qualifying to the Preliminary Stage of the National Championship. The Central Regional Qualifiers will end on Monday July 27, 2026. A total of 30 Top Runners-Up nationwide still stand the chance to qualify for the National Championship.
