NSMQ 2025: Swedru Secondary School Edges Out Kumasi High School Once Again to Secure Quarter-final Spot!

Swedru Secondary School has once again triumphed over Kumasi High School, edging them out for the second time in the One-eighth Stage of the National Championship. Swedru Secondary School’s steady performance earned them 36 points, ensuring their progression to the Quarter-final Stage and maintaining their seeded status in the competition.

The keenly contested battle featured Swedru Secondary School, Kumasi High School, and Anlo SHS. The contest began with all three schools showing remarkable determination, but Swedru Secondary School took the early lead in Round One with 18 points, followed closely by Kumasi High School with 17 and Anlo SHS with 16 points.

Kumasi High School briefly took control in Round Two, Trustur AI Speed Race, adding three points to reach 20, while Swedru Secondary School managed only one point to move to 19. Anlo SHS, however, stumbled in this round, losing four points to fall to 12.
Round Three, the Prudential Life Insurance NSMQ Star (Problem of the Day), kept the audience on edge as Kumasi High School held onto the lead with four out of 10 points, bringing their total to 24. Swedru Secondary School followed closely with 23 points, while Anlo SHS trailed with 14 points.
Momentum shifted in Round Four, Jupay Money Transfer True/False, where Swedru Secondary School staged a strong comeback, adding 10 points to surge ahead with 33 points. Kumasi High School managed seven points to move to 31 points, while Anlo SHS also added 10 points, reaching 24 points.

The contest reached its climax in Round Five, the GOIL Riddle Bonanza. Anlo SHS thrilled the crowd by picking the first and second riddles, but Swedru Secondary School responded decisively, solving the third riddle to reclaim the lead. None of the schools could answer the final riddle, leaving Swedru Secondary School victorious with 36 points, followed by Kumasi High School with 31 points, and Anlo SHS with 30 points.
With this hard-fought victory, Swedru Secondary School cements its place in the Quarter-final Stage of the National Championship, marking another memorable win over Kumasi High School in the competition’s history.
