NSMQ 2026: Four Schools to Battle for Two Final NSMQ Nationals Slots

Esaase Bontefufuo SHTS, Juaben SHS, Our Lady of Mercy SHS and SDA SHS, Gomoa will participate in a tie-breaker contest in Accra this Wednesday, August 12, 2026 to select the final two Top Runners-up to progress to the Preliminary Stage.

The race for qualification to the 2026 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) National Championship has entered its final stage, with six slots still available for high-performing schools that lost their regional qualifying contests.




Organisers initially announced that the 30 highest-ranked runners-up would earn places at the National Championship. However, with six vacant slots still to be filled, four schools tied on 37 points are now battling for the final two places.
The schools, ranked 35th to 38th, will compete in a tiebreaker contest in Accra on Wednesday to determine which of them advance to the National Championship.
