NSMQ 2025: KSTS Triumphs To One-eighth Stage!

The atmosphere was charged with quiet confidence as three determined schools, Bright SHS, Konongo Odumase SHS and Kumasi Secondary Technical School, took their places for the contest. Each school carried hopes, history and the hunger to advance. For Bright SHS, this year was about redemption. “The past is the past,” they declared boldly, referring to their early exit at the Preliminary Stage last year.

Round One began on a slow and steady note. At the end of the round, Konongo Odumase SHS emerged with 23 points, while Bright SHS and KSTS were neck and neck with 21 points each.


In Round Two, the “Trustur AI Speed Race”, the atmosphere shifted. The pace quickened as fingers hovered over buzzers, hearts raced, and the crowd came alive. Supporters cheered with pride as all three schools battled fiercely for dominance. It was a display of speed and sharp thinking. By the end of the round, KSTS led with 24 points, Konongo Odumase followed closely with 22 points , and Bright SHS held on with 20 points.

The intensity grew in Round Three, the “Prudential Life Insurance NSMQ Star”, also known as the “Problem of the Day”. Kumasi Sec. Tech secured nine points, while Bright SHS and Konongo Odumase SHS followed tightly with eight points.


Before the start of the round, Bright SHS made a substitution, Edward stepped in for Biney for the “Jupay Money Transfer True/False” round. This round began smoothly, a calm before the storm. But as it progressed, the pace picked up. The audience leaned forward with every true or false response.

By the end of Round Four, Kumasi Sec. Tech had built a commanding lead with 46 points, followed by Konongo Odumase SHS with 40, and Bright SHS with 38.


In Round Five, the “GOIL Riddle Bonanza.” Round, Gasps, cheers, and cries of disappointment filled the air when Konongo Odumase SHS, despite high expectations, fell short of clinching the GOIL riddle award.


When the final bell rang, Kumasi Secondary Technical School emerged victorious, booking their well-earned ticket to the One-eighth Stage with 49 points. Konongo Odumase SHS followed closely with an impressive 46 points, and Bright SHS exited with heads held high at 41 points.

To cap it all, Kumasi Sec. Technical School was awarded the Pepsodent Highest Scorer Award, earning GH₵ 1,000.
