Fafraha Community Senior High School emerged victorious in the second contest of the 2025 NSMQ Championship, defeating Kumasi Wesley Girls’ High School and Tamale Islamic Science Senior High School with 37 points. However, their win was met with subdued emotions, as the team left the stage unsatisfied after they fell short of their own target.

The contest unfolded in an unusually calm atmosphere. Supporters watched closely as contestants from all three schools engaged in a quiet but tense intellectual battle, with every buzzer press drawing collective breaths from the audience.
Tamale Islamic SHS took an early lead in the first round with 17 points. Their quick thinking and teamwork put them in firm control of the contest. Fafraha Community SHS followed with 14 points, and Kumasi Wesley Girls’ SHS with 8 points.

The momentum shifted in the “Trustur AI Speed Race” in Round Two, as Fafraha Community SHS answered three questions in a row correctly, overtaking their rivals with 21 points. Tamale Islamic SHS followed with 13 points, while Kumasi Wesley Girls’ SHS trailed with four.
In Round Three, the Prudential Life NSMQ Star, contestants approached the Physics Problem of the Day with optimism. Both Fafraha Community SHS and Kumasi Wesley Girls’ SHS secured three points each, while Tamale Islamic SHS followed closely with two points. Fafraha’s precision in the “JuPay True or False” in Round Four, round further earned them a total of 34 points, placing them well ahead of Tamale Islamic’s 21 points and Kumasi Wesley Girls’ nine points.

When the “GOIL Riddle Bonanza” in Round Five concluded, Tamale Islamic SHS fans quietly exited the auditorium before the contest officially ended. Even as the quiz mistress confirmed Fafraha’s dominance ahead of Tamale Islamic SHS’s 27 points and Kumasi Wesley Girls’ SHS’s 12, the energy in the auditorium remained subdued.
For Fafraha Community SHS, the victory was bittersweet. They had secured a place in the One-Eighth stage, but not in the manner they had hoped. Their aim had been to advance with a higher score, rather than the 37 points they managed.
