NSMQ 2026: Mfantsiman Girls’, Edinaman SHS record resounding victories on Day One of Central Regional Qualifiers

With 61 and 71 points respectively, Mfantsiman Girls’ SHS and Edinaman SHS routed opposition from four other schools to become the first two schools to qualify from the Central Region for this year’s National Championship.

Mfantsiman Girls’ Impress in Contest One
The genteel ladies from Mfantsiman Girls’ announced their intent with a no-nonsense trouncing of Apam SHS, Odoben SHS and Methodist High School, Saltpond.
Leading from round one all the way to the end, “SYTE” ended the contest with 61 points, a 22-point gap. Apam SHS placed second with 39 points, while Odoben SHS and Methodist High School, Saltpond finished with 28 and 27 points respectively.

Edinaman SHS flexes superiority in Contest Two
Edinaman SHS were clearly too strong for Mando SHTS, Nyankumasi Ahenkro SHS and Eguafo Abrem SHS. The stoic gentlemen from Elmina started the contest with a 10-point lead after round one. By the end of the final round, “EDISEC” secured their victory and qualification with 71 points.
Mando SHTS placed second with 22 points, Nyankumasi Ahenkro SHS came in third with 21 points while Eguafo Abrem SHS scored 10 points.

Congratulations to Mfantsiman Girls’ SHS and Edinaman SHS for qualifying to the Preliminary Stage of the National Championship. The Central Regional Qualifiers will continue on Sunday 26th July and end on Monday July 27, 2026.
