The second group of schools to compete at the Kumapley Auditorium on Day 4 of the NSMQ 2023 Prelims, was made up of Koforidua Sec. Tech. (Mmarima mma), Sefwi Wiawso SHS, and Lawra SHS. This contest was action-packed as each school was poised to make it to the One-eighth Stage of the competition. At the end of the day, Koforidua Sec Tech showed why they are called "Mmarima mma", carrying the day with a resounding 66 points
The 30th Anniversary edition of the National Science & Maths Quiz kicked off on October 6th, 2023. As an exciting highlight of the 30th Anniversary celebrations, this year's NSMQ is being hosted in two distinct regions: KNUST in Kumasi and the National Theatre in Accra. This historic occurrence represents the first time the National Championship spans across two regions. KNUST will serve as the venue for the preliminary four stages of the competition, with the Grand Finale scheduled to captivate audiences at the National Theatre.
Koforidua Sec Tech had an early lead by persistently responding to the first set of questions incessantly, they maintained their stance and were never defeated. The crowning achievement for Koforidua Sec Tech was answering all four riddle questions correctly and clinging to the Goil riddle bonanza award, worth One thousand, two hundred Ghana Cedis.
