T.I. AMASS Kumasi Snatches Late Victory Over Yilo Krobo and Adventist SHS, Bantama

The tension was intense as T.I. Ahmadiyya Senior High School, Kumasi (T.I. AMASS), Yilo Krobo Senior High School, and Adventist SHS, Bantama, faced off in what became one of the most unpredictable contests of the 2025 National Science & Maths Quiz Preliminary Stage.

The contest was intense from start to finish, with each round testing the schools’ accuracy, teamwork, and composure. Yilo Krobo SHS took an early lead in Round One, showcasing quick thinking and coordination to earn 14 points, while T.I. AMASS Kumasi followed closely with 12 points. Adventist SHS, Bantama, though slow to start, managed nine points, keeping their hopes alive.
The contest took its first twist in the Trustur AI Speed Race. The round demanded both precision and speed, and T.I. AMASS, Kumasi, rose to the challenge. Their quick buzzes and accurate answers earned them the top spot with 19 points, narrowly surpassing Yilo Krobo’s 17 points. Adventist SHS, Bantama, faltered slightly, finishing the round with eight points.
The Problem of the Day, a demanding test of logic and teamwork, proved decisive. Yilo Krobo SHS scored a perfect 10 out of 10, earning GH¢2000 for the Prudential Life NSMQ Star Award. T.I. AMASS, Kumasi, and Adventist SHS, Bantama, both showed strong reasoning, scoring eight points each.

In the “JuPay Money Transfer True or False” Round, T.I. AMASS Kumasi demonstrated composure and precision, answering a series of questions correctly. Their strong performance in this round extended their lead to 43 points, while Yilo Krobo SHS and Adventist SHS, Bantama, followed with 31 points each.
The atmosphere in the hall reached its peak as the “GOIL Riddle Bonanza” commenced, the final opportunity for schools to change the outcome. Adventist SHS, Bantama, drew loud applause after correctly answering two riddles, narrowing the gap. T.I. AMASS Kumasi claimed the second riddle, and Yilo Krobo SHS wrapped up the round by solving the final one.
T.I. AMASS Kumasi ultimately secured victory with 46 points. Adventist SHS, Bantama, finished with 37 points, while Yilo Krobo SHS followed with 34 points.
