The 30th Anniversary edition of the National Science & Maths Quiz kicked off, on October 6th, 2023. As an exciting highlight of the 30th Anniversary celebrations, this year's NSMQ is being hosted in two distinct regions: KNUST in Kumasi and the National Theatre in Accra. This historic occurrence represents the first time the National Championship spans across two regions. KNUST serves as the venue for the Preliminary four stages of the competition, with the Grand Finale scheduled to captivate audiences at the National Theatre.
At 8:30 a.m., the contestants took their seats, and the quiz mistress, Dr. Anita Oppong, initiated the competition at 9:10 a.m., by introducing the participants. OLA Girls’ SHS, Ho, competed against Boa Amponsem and Adiembra SHS, with OLA Girls’ SHS emerging victorious in a tiebreaker. However, at the One-eighth stage, Ola Girls came well-prepared to compete against Bishop Herman College and Adidome SHS. After the first two rounds, BIHECO held a comfortable lead.
