NSMQ Central Regional Championship: St Augustine’s College Secures A Spot In The Finals

The first contest of the Central Regional Championship set the stage for high drama: five schools (Hope College, Nyakrom SHTS, St Augustine’s College, Mfantsiman Girls’ SHS and Obiri Yeboah SHS) locked horns in what promised to be a thrilling opener.

Right from Round One, St. Augustine’s made their intentions known. They surged ahead with a commanding 25 points. Mfantsiman Girls’ SHS followed with 17 points, Nyakrom SHTS held 14, while both Hope College and Obiri Yeboah SHS trailed with 12 apiece.

In Round Two, St. Augustine’s turned up the heat. With swift answers and tactical precision, they extended their lead to a staggering 46 points. Their closest rivals struggled to keep pace. Mfantsiman Girls’ dropped a point to 16, Nyakrom SHTS remained at 14, Obiri Yeboah edged up to 12 and Hope College slipped slightly to 11. It was clear that the AUGUSCO boys were in a league of their own.

Round Three saw more sparks as the competition intensified. Mfantsiman Girls’ SHS found their rhythm and made a decent leap to 34 points. Nyakrom SHTS also picked up steam with 27 points. Hope College and Obiri Yeboah SHS were neck and neck on 21 and 20 points respectively. But once again, St. Augustine’s College maintained a firm grip on the lead, climbing to an impressive 59 points.

In the final round, AUGUSCO sealed their dominance, finishing with a solid 65 points. Mfantsiman Girls’ SHS held on to second place with 38, followed by Nyakrom SHTS with 30. Hope College and Obiri Yeboah SHS rounded out the scores with 21 and 20 respectively.
With this emphatic win, St. Augustine’s College secured a well-deserved spot in the Grand Final of the Central Regional Championship.
