NSMQ 2026: Ofori Panin SHS, Kadjebi Asato SHS, Ghanata SHS and Labone SHS Secure One-eighth Stage Spots in Intense Contests!

Day Two of the 2026 National Science & Maths Quiz (NSMQ) National Championship was a day of comebacks, dominant performances and tense finishes, as Ofori Panin SHS, Kadjebi Asato SHS, Ghanata SHS and Labone SHS each emerged victorious in their respective Preliminary Stage contests.
Across the four contests, Kadjebi Asato SHS recorded the highest winning score of the day with 56 points, followed by Ofori Panin SHS with 53 points, Ghanata SHS with 51 points and Labone SHS with 41 points.

Ghanata SHS dominates O’Reilly SHS, Yendi SHS
Ghanata SHS got Day Two off to a strong start, establishing an early advantage in its contest against O’Reilly SHS and Yendi SHS with 20 points in Round One. O’Reilly followed with 13 points, while Yendi SHS had nine.
Ghanata extended its lead in the Trustur AI Speed Race, answering most of the questions with precision to move to 32 points. O’Reilly advanced to 18 points, while Yendi added one point to reach 10.
The contest remained firmly in Ghanata’s control in the Jupay Money Transfer True/False Round, as they surged to 44 points. O’Reilly SHS, however, gave their supporters something to celebrate, keeping a clean sheet in the round to earn the GH₵500 Jupay Clean Sheet Award, while moving to 36 points. Yendi stood at 22.
Ghanata SHS held on to seal the first victory of Day Two, finishing on 51 points. O’Reilly SHS followed with 43 points, while Yendi SHS bowed out of the competition on 22 points.

Ofori Panin Fights Back to Book One-eighth Stage Spot!
Ofori Panin SHS staged a strong comeback to secure one of the day’s major victories, overcoming MIM SHS and Oyoko Methodist SHS in a closely contested battle. MIM SHS got off to a flying start, leading Round One with 19 points, followed by Oyoko Methodist SHS with 15 points and Ofori Panin SHS with 11 points.
But Ofori Panin quickly turned the contest around in the Trustur AI Speed Race, surging into the lead with 25 points. MIM SHS moved to 22 points, while Oyoko Methodist SHS remained on 15 points.

Ofori Panin maintained its momentum in Round Three, the Prudential Life Insurance NSMQ Star Problem of the Day, scoring nine out of 10 to extend its lead. MIM SHS scored seven points, while Oyoko Methodist SHS managed five points.
Round Four brought another thrilling moment as Ofori Panin SHS and Oyoko Methodist SHS both produced flawless performances in the Jupay Money Transfer True/False Round. The two schools answered all their questions correctly to earn the GH¢500 Jupay Clean Sheet Award each.

Heading into the final round, Ofori Panin remained firmly in control with 50 points, ahead of Oyoko Methodist SHS on 36 and MIM SHS on 33. MIM SHS made a late push in the GOIL Riddle Bonanza, answering three riddles correctly to earn GH₵800.

Ofori Panin SHS held on to finish on 53 points and seal victory, booking their place in the One-eighth Stage. MIM SHS finished with 42 points, while Oyoko Methodist SHS ended the contest with 36 points.
Kadjebi Asato Stages Comeback to Win

Kadjebi Asato SHS staged another impressive comeback to overcome Ahantaman Girls’ SHS and Ada SHTS in a closely fought contest. Ahantaman Girls’ SHS made the stronger start, taking the lead in Round One with 22 points, narrowly ahead of Kadjebi Asato SHS with 20 points, while Ada SHTS scored 16 points.
Kadjebi Asato SHS shifted the momentum in the Trustur AI Speed Race, surging into the lead with 31 points. Ahantaman Girls’ moved to 23 points, while Ada reached 17.
Kadjebi Asato SHS maintained its advantage in Round Three, the Prudential Life Insurance NSMQ Star Problem of the Day, scoring an impressive nine out of the 10 available points. Ahantaman Girls’ and Ada SHTS managed six and five points respectively.
By Round Four, Kadjebi Asato SHShad opened up a commanding lead with 53 points, while Ahantaman Girls’ had 39 and Ada SHTS 35. Ahantaman Girls’, however, gave their supporters something to celebrate in the GOIL Riddle Bonanza, answering three riddles correctly to win the GH₵800 prize.
Kadjebi Asato SHS held its nerve to answer the final riddle correctly, finishing on 56 points and sealing the victory. Ahantaman Girls’ fought hard to finish on 48 points, while Ada SHTS ended the contest on 35 points.

Labone SHS Survives Notre Dame Scare to Advance into One-eighth Stage
Labone SHS survived a late scare from Notre Dame SHS to secure a place in the One-eighth Stage, edging their opponents by just two points in a thrilling contest that also featured debutants T.I. AMASS WA.
Labone took the early lead in Round One with 12 points, followed by Notre Dame SHS with 10 and T.I. AMASS WA with two. Labone extended its advantage in the Trustur AI Speed Race, moving to 18 points, while Notre Dame advanced to 11 and T.I. AMASS remained on two.
Labone strengthened its position in Round Three, the Prudential Life Insurance NSMQ Star Problem of the Day, producing a perfect 10/10 to claim the GH₵2,000 Prudential Life Insurance NSMQ Star prize. Notre Dame scored five points, while T.I. AMASS failed to score.
By Round Four, Labone had stretched its lead to 37 points, with Notre Dame on 30 and T.I. AMASS on three. But the contest took a dramatic turn in the GOIL Riddle Bonanza, as Notre Dame answered three riddles correctly to move to 39 points and claim the GH₵800 prize.
With the pressure mounting, Labone answered the final riddle correctly to finish on 41 points, narrowly holding off Notre Dame, which ended on 39. The two-point victory secured Labone’s place in the One-eighth Stage, while Notre Dame bowed out after a spirited late fightback. Debutants T.I. AMASS, Wa finished on three points.
