NSMQ 2026: Motown Books Quarter-Final Spot!

Achimota School has secured a place in the Quarter-final Stage of the 2026 National Science & Maths Quiz after a strong performance against Accra Girls’ SHS and Accra High School in the One-eighth Stage.

Achimota School took an early lead and maintained it throughout the five rounds, finishing the contest with 56 points. Accra Girls’ SHS placed second with 40 points, while Accra High School ended on 28 points.

Achimota School started strongly in Round One, taking the lead with 23 points. Accra Girls’ SHS followed with 19 points, while Accra High School recorded 12 points.

The advantage grew in Round Two, the Trustur AI Speed Race, as Motown moved to 33 points. Accra Girls’ SHS reached 17 points, while Accra High School moved to 15 points.

In Round Three, the Prudential Life Insurance NSMQ Star, Problem of the Day, Achimota School maintained its lead with 34 points. Accra Girls’ SHS added to its tally to reach 18 points, while Accra High School remained on 15 points.

The contest became more competitive in Round Four, the Jupay Money Transfer True/False, but Motown remained firmly in control, extending its score to 50 points. Accra Girls’ SHS moved to 34 points, while Accra High School reached 28 points.

Both Achimota School and Accra Girls’ SHS were rewarded for their performance in the round with the Jupay Clean Sheet Award, worth GH¢700.

The final Round Five, the GOIL Riddle Bonanza, confirmed Achimota School’s qualification. Motown finished the contest on 56 points, ahead of Accra Girls’ SHS on 40 points and Accra High School on 28 points. The victory sends Achimota School through to the Quarter-final Stage, while Accra Girls’ SHS and Accra High School bow out of the 2026 National Science & Maths Quiz at the One-eighth Stage.
