NSMQ 2026: Ghana National College Sets the Pace, Secures Quarter-final Spot!

The first contest of the One-eighth Stage at the CNC Auditorium featured, Presby Senior High School, Suhum, St. Monica’s Senior High School and Ghana National College, with the contest moderated by Mrs. Rachel Annor.

Round One, the General Questions round, proved challenging for all three schools. Ghana National College, however, emerged with the lead, scoring 12 points, while Presby SHS, Suhum followed with nine points and St. Monica’s SHS had six points.

The Trustur AI Speed Race in Round Two began with St. Monica’s SHS answering the first two questions quickly. Ghana National College, however, took the lead as the round progressed, moving to 19 points. Presby SHS, Suhum followed with 13 points, while St. Monica’s SHS had 10 points.

In Round Three, the Prudential Life Insurance NSMQ Star, Problem of the Day, none of the three schools managed a perfect 10 out of 10 to claim the NSMQ Star Prize of GH₵2,400. Ghana National College maintained the lead with 25 points, while St Monica’s SHS and Presby SHS, Suhum were tied on 15 points each.

The Jupay Money Transfer True/False round in Round Four also proved difficult, with none of the schools earning the Jupay Clean Sheet Award of GH₵700. Ghana National College extended its lead to 29 points, while St Monica’s SHS moved to 19 points and Presby SHS, Suhum reached 16 points.

In Round Five, the GOIL Riddle Bonanza, Ghana National College answered three of the four questions to win GH₵1,200. The school finished the contest with 38 points to secure its place in the Quarter-final Stage. St Monica’s SHS finished second with 22 points, while Presby SHS, Suhum ended the contest with 16 points.
