NSMQ 2025: Winneba Sec. Sch. Secures a Spot at One-eighth Stage

The second day of the Preliminary Stage of the National Championship featured Winneba Secondary School, E.P.C. Mawuko Girls’ SHS, and Tuobodom SHTS.

In a keenly contested encounter, Winneba Secondary School clinched a spot in the One-eighth Stage of the 2025 National Science & Maths Quiz (NSMQ) after accumulating 33 points.

In the first round, Winneba Secondary School set the tone for a competitive contest by taking an early lead with 19 points. E.P.C. Mawuko Girls’ SHS followed with sIx points, while Tuobodom SHTS followed closely with five points.


The second round, the Trustur AI Speed Race, saw E.P.C. Mawuko Girls’ make a spirited attempt to close the gap, improving their score to 18 points. However, Winneba Secondary School maintained their composure to extend their lead to 26 points, leaving Tuobodom further behind with just two points.

The third round, the Prudential Life Insurance NSMQ Star (Problem of the Day), proved challenging for the contestants. Both Winneba Secondary School and Tuobodom SHTS failed to secure any points, while E.P.C. Mawuko Girls’ managed to score two points for their attempt.

Momentum swung once again in the fourth round, the Jupay Money Transfer True or False, where E.P.C. Mawuko Girls’ demonstrated remarkable accuracy, giving Winneba Secondary School a real run for their money. Both schools ended the round tied at 27 points, with Tuobodom SHTS behind with nine points.

The decisive moment came in Round Five, the GOIL Riddle Bonanza where Winneba Secondary School answered two riddles correctly to reclaim their lead. They finished with 33 points, while E.P.C. Mawuko Girls’ ended with 27 points and Tuobodom SHTS with 12 points.

With that performance, Winneba Secondary School successfully booked their seat in the One-eighth Stage of the National Science & Maths Quiz.
