St. Peter’s Senior High School has secured a place in the Semi-final Stage of the 2025 National Science & Maths Quiz after an electrifying contest against University Practice SHS and Mawuli School.
The auditorium was charged with excitement as supporters from all three sides filled the space with chants and cheers, setting the tone for a fierce battle of wits.

The first set of questions proved challenging for all contestants, but their supporters remained hopeful. Gradually, the contestants found their rhythm, and the competition became more intense. By the end of Round One, St. Peter’s SHS led narrowly with 13 points, just a point ahead of University Practice SHS, who had 12 points, while Mawuli followed with nine points.
In Round Two, the Trustur AI Speed Race, St Peter’s SHS maintained their lead by adding seven points to reach 20, while University Practice made steady progress, adding three marks to reach 17 points. Mawuli School also added a point to reach 10 points.

Ahead of Round Three, Mawuli School made a substitution, bringing in Senyo, whose timely entry revitalised the team’s performance. The Prudential Life Insurance NSMQ Star Problem of the Day featured a Biology question that required contestants to apply their analytical skills for a total of 10 points. At the end of the round, St. Peter’s SHS and University Practice SHS both scored eight points, while Mawuli School scored six points.
In Round Four, the JuPay Money Transfer True or False round, St. Peter’s SHS extended its lead, reaching 41 points. University Practice also improved its tally to 35, while Mawuli School followed with 23. Both Mawuli School and St. Peter’s SHS raised objections to some answers; however, the Quiz Mistress, Professor Elsie Effah Kaufmann, firmly upheld her decisions and dismissed the protests.

The competition reached its peak in the GOIL Super Bonanza round, with supporters on the edge of their seats. University Practice’s Derrick Kwakye thrilled the audience by solving two riddles, drawing his school level with St. Peter’s SHS. None of the schools managed the third riddle. When the final riddle was read, Mawuli School attempted it but answered incorrectly, allowing St. Peter’s to seize the opportunity and respond correctly to seal their victory.

At the end of the Contest, St Peter’s SHS emerged victorious with 45 points. University Practice SHS scored 41 points while Mawuli School exited the competition with 23 points.
In addition to their victory, St Peter’s School won GH₵1,800 from Momo Money Zone and GH₵500 for solving one riddle.
