NSMQ 2025: St. Paul’s SHS Denu Clinches One-eighth Stage Spot with 61 Points

St. Paul’s SHS, Denu, stamped their authority in the first contest on the final day of the Preliminary Stage of the National Championship, accumulating an impressive 61 points to edge out Anum Presby SHS and Samuel Otu Presby SHS and earn a well-deserved place in the One-eighth Stage.

The contest began with St. Paul’s SHS taking an early lead of 30 points, while Anum Presby SHS followed with 16 points, and Samuel Otu Presby SHS managed three points.


St. Paul’s SHS continued to extend their dominance in Round Two, the Trustur AI Speed Race, adding 15 points to reach 45 points, while Anum Presby SHS managed two points to total 18 points. Samuel Otu Presby SHS, however, struggled to catch up, ending the round with five points.


Round Three, the Prudential Life Insurance NSMQ Star (Problem of the Day) proved to be a tough challenge for all three schools. The chemistry question, which required precision in naming compounds, tripped up all contestants as they missed a crucial symbol, resulting in no points for any team.

In Round Four, the Jupay Money Transfer True or False, both St. Paul’s SHS and Anum Presby SHS displayed renewed energy. Each team accumulated 13 additional points, bringing St. Paul’s SHS total to 58 points and Anum Presby SHS to 31 points. Samuel Otu Presby SHS improved slightly to 15 points.


The final round, the GOIL Riddle Bonanza, added some excitement to the contest. Both St. Paul’s SHS and Samuel Otu Presby SHS correctly solved one riddle each, earning extra points to finish with 61 points and 18 points, respectively. Anum Presby SHS maintained their total of 31 points.

With an unbroken lead from the first round, St. Paul’s SHS, Denu, emerged victors and advanced confidently to the next stage of the National Championship.
