NSMQ 2025: St. James Seminary SHS Edges Past Mankessim SHTS and Presby SHS, Suhum to Book Quarter-final Spot

It was a tough contest as Mankessim SHTS and Presby SHS, Suhum battled fiercely with St. James Seminary SHS to secure a spot in the Quarter-final Stage. For Mankessim SHTS, it was their first appearance at the National Championship, and they were eager to advance to the next stage of the competition.


According to the contestants, it was more than just a competition. It was also an opportunity to earn a seed for their school and make things easier for future contestants. The contest began with St. James taking the lead, smoothly and confidently answering questions correctly.

At the end of Round One, St. James Seminary SHS led with 27 points, followed by Mankessim SHTS with 15 points, while Presby SHS, Suhum trailed with 12 points.


In Round Two, the “Trustur AI Speed Race,” the competition intensified as all three schools rang their bells quickly to provide answers to the questions. It was a tough round, as the contestants struggled to give accurate responses to secure more points. By the end of the round, St. James Seminary SHS maintained their lead with 27 points, Mankessim SHTS followed with 17 points, and Presby SHS, Suhum managed 11 points.


At the end of Round Three, the “Prudential Life Insurance NSMQ Star Problem of the Day,” St. James Seminary SHS and Mankessim SHTS tied with eight points each, while Presby SHS, Suhum managed just one point.


Before the start of Round Four, the “Jupay Money Transfer True/False,” Presby SHS introduced Emmanuel to replace Nii, while Marfo came in for Oswald for St. James Seminary SHS. At the end of the round, St. James Seminary SHS dominated with 48 points, Mankessim SHTS followed with 32 points, and Presby SHS, Suhum lagged with 16 points.


In the fifth and final round, the GOIL Riddle Bonanza, the one that would determine the fate of the schools, supporters watched anxiously as the contest drew to a close. In the end, St. James Seminary SHS secured a spot in the Quarter-final stage with 54 points.

Though first timers, Mankessim SHTS could not win the contest they gave the St. James Seminary SHS a tough contest and ended with 38 points while Presby SHS, Suhum trailed with 16 points.
