NSMQ 2025: Reigning Champions, Mfantsipim School Secure a Spot in the Semi-finals After a Thrilling Contest!

The atmosphere at the SGS Auditorium was electric as the most anticipated Quarter-final contest of the National Championship unfolded. The stage was set for an epic showdown between three of Ghana’s most formidable schools: Prempeh College, Adisadel College, and the reigning champions, Mfantsipim School.
Before the contest began, each school proudly sang its anthem, igniting school spirit and setting the tone for a fierce intellectual battle. Confidence filled the air as all three schools expressed their determination to advance to the Semi-final Stage.
When the final bell rang, it was Mfantsipim School who stood tall, defeating rivals Adisadel College and Prempeh College to continue their quest for back-to-back glory.

The contest began on a calm note, with subtle tension building as the rounds progressed. The reigning champions answered all their questions correctly in the first round, setting the pace early on. This confident start energised the “Botwe Boys,” whose supporters erupted in cheers and applause. At the end of the round, Mfantsipim School led with 25 points, Prempeh College followed with 20 points, while Adisadel College trailed with 15 points.
In Round Two, the Trustur AI Speed Race, the atmosphere intensified as all three schools battled through a series of fast-paced questions. Mfantsipim School adopted a strategic approach, choosing to answer only when certain and avoiding unnecessary risks. Their calculated precision paid off as they extended their lead, finishing the round with 41 points. Prempeh College followed with 22 points, while Adisadel College remained at 15 points.

Before the start of Round Three, the Prudential Life Insurance NSMQ Star Problem of the Day, a few strategic substitutions were made. Mohammed replaced Ahmed for Mfantsipim School, while Kwaku came in for Benedict for Prempeh College.
The round, scored out of ten points, tested the schools’ problem-solving precision. At the end of the round, Adisadel College led with six points, Mfantsipim School followed closely with four points, and Prempeh College secured two points.

In the JuPay Money Transfer True or False Round, all three schools delivered an impressive performance, answering with precision and confidence. At the end of the round, Mfantsipim School maintained their dominance with 61 points, followed by Prempeh College with 40 points, while Adisadel College trailed with 31 points.
The tension reached its peak in the fifth and final round, as supporters sat on the edge of their seats, hoping for a dramatic twist. Despite the mounting pressure, Mfantsipim School held their ground as all three teams battled for the GOIL Riddle Bonanza award.
At the final bell, Mfantsipim School sealed their place in the Semi-finals with 64 points, continuing their title defence in confident style.

In addition to their victory, Mfantsipim School earned the Pepsodent Highest Scorer Award worth GH₵3,000, GH₵500 for answering one riddle correctly in the GOIL Super Bonanza Round, and GH₵2,560 from the MoMo Money Zone, bringing their total cash prize to GH₵6,060.

Adisadel College impressed in the GOIL Super Bonanza Round, earning the GOIL Super Bonanza Award worth GH₵1,600 for solving three riddles correctly. The team also took home GH₵1,600 from the MoMo Money Zone, adding to their total winnings.
Prempeh College equally showcased brilliance, walking away with GH₵1,600 from the MoMo Money Zone.
