NSMQ 2025: POJOBA Triumphs Over Mpraeso and Swedru to Book Semi-final Seat!

Pope John Senior High School and Minor Seminary, have booked their place in the Semi-final Stage of the National Championship, after triumphing over Mpraeso SHS and Swedru Secondary School in a thrilling Quarter-final contest.

The contest, which began on a rather slow note, saw Pope John SHS & Minor Seminary take an early lead with 15 points, while Mpraeso SHS and Swedru Sec. Sch. followed with seven and three points respectively.


In the speed-driven Round Two, the Trustur AI Speed Race, Pope John SHS and Min. Seminary extended their dominance by adding nine points to reach 24 points, while Mpraeso SHS managed only one additional point and Swedru Sec. Sch. maintained their initial three points.

The intensity heightened in Round Three, the Prudential Life Insurance NSMQ Star (Problem of the Day), where Mpraeso SHS showcased remarkable problem-solving skills, scoring an impressive nine out of 10. The Quiz Mistress, Professor Elsie Effah Kaufmann praised their effort, noting that they “broke her heart” for missing the perfect score by just a single point. Pope John SHS and Min. Seminary scored seven, and Swedru Sec. Sch. followed with five out of 10.


Round Four, the Jupay Money Transfer True or False, saw all three schools fighting to close the gap. Pope John SHS & Min. Seminary, however, maintained their composure, adding 16 points to reach a commanding 47points . Mpraeso SHS and Swedru Sec. Sch. both added 10 points each to reach 27 and 18 points respectively.

In the decisive Round Five, the GOIL Riddle Bonanza, Pope John SHS & Min. Seminary answered two riddles correctly, earning GH₵1,000, while both Mpraeso SHS and Swedru Sec. Sch. picked one riddle each to receive GH₵ 500 each.


At the end of the contest, Pope John SHS & Minor Seminary emerged winners with 53 points, securing a total of GH₵2,120 from the MoMo Money Zone. Mpraeso SHS finished second with 30 points and took home GH₵1,200, while Swedru Sec. Sch. placed third with 21 points, earning GH₵ 840.

With this convincing performance, Pope John SHS & Minor Seminary advance to the Semi-final Stage of the National Championship, amassing a total of GH₵3,120 in prizes.
