NSMQ 2025: Ofori Panin SHS Advance to the Next Stage with an Outstanding 79 Points!

The 2025 edition of the National Science & Maths Quiz (NSMQ) National Championship kicked off in grand style at the Centre for National Culture (CNC) Auditorium in Cape Coast. The opening contest saw Ofori Panin Senior High School, Kpando Senior High School, and Awe Senior High Technical School face off, with Dr Gladys Odey Schwinger as the quiz mistress.

Right from the start, Ofori Panin SHS took control, wrapping up Round One with 21 points. Kpando SHS followed with 16 points, while Awe SHTS managed nine points.

The energy intensified in the ‘Trusted AI Speed Race’ in Round Two, where every buzzer counted. Kpando SHS attempted the first question but faltered, dulling their early confidence. Ofori Panin SHS, however, maintained their momentum. They answered a series of questions correctly to widen the gap. Awe SHTS chose a more cautious approach; they watched as their opponents battled for dominance.

By the end of the second round, Ofori Panin SHS had extended their lead to 47 points, leaving Kpando SHS trailing at 16 points, while Awe SHTS held on to their nine points.

In Round Three, the Prudential Life Insurance NSMQ Star (Problem of the Day), Ofori Panin SHS clinched the Prudential Life Insurance NSMQ Star Award by scoring a perfect score of 10. Kpando SHS followed closely with eight points, while Awe SHTS managed a point.

Ofori Panin SHS continued their dominance in the ‘JuPay True or False’ Round in Round Four, by securing 73 points. Kpando SHS and Awe SHTS still struggling to keep pace, ended the round with 34 and 20 points, respectively.

The ‘Goil Riddle Bonanza’, which marked the final round of the contest, saw Ofori Panin SHS once again securing the bragging rights over Kpando SHS and Awe SHS.
