NSMQ 2025: Nkwatia Presby SHS Sweeps Double Awards to One-eighth Stage

The final contest of the day ended on a thrilling note, as Nkwatia Presbyterian Senior High School, delivered an outstanding performance to secure a place in the One-eighth Stage of the 2025 National Science & Maths Quiz. Their commanding display earned them their qualification, the GOIL Riddle Bonanza Award and the Pepsodent Highest Scorer Award for the day.

Round One set the tone for a competitive start, with all three schools, Nkwatia Presby SHS, St. Charles Minor Seminary SHS, and Serwaa Kesse Girls’ SHS, battling for early dominance. Nkwatia Presby SHS quickly established control with 26 points, followed by Serwaa Kesse Girls’ SHS with 15 points, while St. Charles Minor Seminary SHS trailed with five points.
In Round Two, the Trustur AI Speed Race, Nkwatia Presby SHS widened the margin by adding nine points, taking their total to 35 points. Serwaa Kesse Girls’ SHS managed to add just one point, bringing their score to 16, as St. Charles Minor Seminary SHS slipped to four points after losing one.
Round Three, the Prudential Life Insurance NSMQ Star (Problem of the Day), proved challenging for all three schools. Both Nkwatia Presby SHS and Serwaa Kesse Girls’ SHS earned two out of 10 points, while St. Charles Minor Seminary SHS was unable to score in this round.

The pace intensified in Round Four, the Jupay Money Transfer True/False, where Nkwatia Presby SHS maintained their dominance, adding 13 points to extend their lead to 50 points. Serwaa Kesse Girls’ SHS and St. Charles Minor Seminary SHS followed with 19 and 11 points respectively.
In the final round, the GOIL Riddle Bonanza, Nkwatia Presby SHS sealed their victory in style, correctly answering all four riddles to finish with an impressive 62 points. Their stellar performance also earned them the GOIL Riddle Bonanza Award worth GH₵1,200. Serwaa Kesse Girls’ SHS and St. Charles Minor Seminary SHS ended the contest with 19 and 11 points respectively.

At the end of the contest, Nkwatia Presby SHS booked their place in the One-eighth Stage and also emerged as the Pepsodent Highest Scorer of the day, taking home an additional GH₵1,000, bringing their total prize winnings to GH₵2,200.
