NSMQ 2025: Krobo Girls’ SHS Shines Bright to Secure One-eighth Stage Spot

Krobo Girls’ Presbyterian Senior High School has earned a well-deserved place in the One-eighth Stage of the 2025 National Science & Maths Quiz (NSMQ), after an impressive and dominant performance that saw them finish with 59 points.

The contest began on an exciting note as Krobo Girls’ Presby SHS and St. Francis Xavier Junior Seminary SHS went head-to-head in Round One. Krobo Girls’ SHS took an early lead with 18 points, narrowly edging out St. Francis Xavier Junior Seminary SHS, who followed closely with 16 points, while Business SHS trailed with two points.


Round Two, the Trustur AI Speed Race, began with the audience’s enthusiastic chants of “Speed!” filling the auditorium. Krobo Girls’ Presby SHS displayed remarkable composure and quick thinking, adding 15 points to stretch their lead to 33 points. St. Francis Xavier Junior Seminary SHS managed to add three points, bringing their total to 19, while Business SHS remained at two points.

The momentum shifted slightly in Round Three, the Prudential Life Insurance NSMQ Star (Problem of the Day), where St. Francis Xavier Junior Seminary SHS claimed the Prudential Life Insurance NSMQ Star Award, worth GH₵2,000, by achieving a perfect 10 out of 10 score. Krobo Girls’ Presby SHS and Business SHS also performed strongly, each earning seven out of 10 points.


In Round Four, the Jupay Money Transfer True/False, all three schools fought to boost their scores. Krobo Girls’ Presby SHS maintained their dominance, adding 16 points to move to 56, while both St. Francis Xavier Junior Seminary SHS and Business SHS added 10 points each, taking their totals to 29 and 19 points respectively.

The final round, the GOIL Riddle Bonanza, sealed the victory for Krobo Girls’ Presby SHS. They successfully solved one riddle to finish with 59 points, while St. Francis Xavier Junior Seminary SHS picked two riddles to end with 42 points. Business SHS, who couldn’t add to their tally, concluded the contest with 19 points.

With a consistent performance across all rounds, Krobo Girls’ Presby SHS triumphed to book their well-earned spot in the One-eighth Stage of the National Championship.
