NSMQ 2025: GSTS Books Quarter-final Spot After Steady Lead Over Nkwatia Presby and Ashaiman SHS

Ghana Secondary Technical School (GSTS) has advanced to the Quarter-final Stage of the 2025 National Science & Maths Quiz (NSMQ) after an impressive and consistent performance that saw them triumph over Nkwatia Presbyterian SHS and Ashaiman SHS with 50 points.

The contest began with all three schools showing determination to seize the early advantage. At the end of the first round, GSTS took the lead with 22 points, closely followed by Nkwatia Presby SHS with 19 points, while Ashaiman SHS trailed with nine points.

The intensity heightened in Round Two, the Trustur AI Speed Race, as GSTS and Nkwatia Presby went head-to-head. GSTS, however, maintained their composure, adding eight points to reach 30, with Nkwatia Presby SHS close behind on 25 points, and Ashaiman SHS still holding nine points.

In Round Three, the Prudential Life Insurance NSMQ Star (Problem of the Day), all three schools made a solid attempt, but GSTS once again edged ahead, securing nine out of 10 points, while both Nkwatia Presby SHS and Ashaiman SHS earned six points each.

Ashaiman SHS found their rhythm in Round Four, the Jupay Money Transfer True or False, adding 13 points to reach 28, but GSTS extended their dominance by scoring 10 more points to move to 47, as Nkwatia Presby SHS followed with 35 points.

The final round, GOIL Riddle Bonanza, saw Nkwatia Presby SHS put up a spirited fight, correctly answering the first three riddles to earn the GOIL Riddle Bonanza Award worth GH₵1,200, raising their score to 45 points. Ashaiman SHS maintained 28 points, while GSTS sealed their victory by picking the final riddle to finish with 50 points.

With this steady and strategic performance, GSTS booked their place in the Quarter-final Stage of the National Championship.
