Aburi Girls’ Senior High School has secured a spot in the One-eighth Stage of the 2025 National Championship of the National Science & Maths Quiz after finishing their contest with 48 points.
The contest, which featured Aburi Girls’ SHS, Dormaa SHS, and St. Mary’s Seminary SHS, Lolobi, was marked by quiet tension. The atmosphere in the hall was calm yet intense; supporters watched anxiously, whispered prayers, and hoped for a turnaround for their schools.

Round One saw all three schools approach their questions with caution. By the end, Aburi Girls’ SHS led with 16 points, closely followed by Dormaa SHS with nine points and St. Mary’s Seminary SHS with eight points.
In the Trustur AI Speed Race Round, Aburi Girls stumbled on their first question but quickly regained their rhythm. Their precision and composure earned them an additional 10 points, bringing their total to 26 points. Dormaa and St. Mary’s Seminary, however, struggled to add to their scores, maintaining nine and eight points, respectively.
The “Prudential Life NSMQ Star” round presented a challenging Problem of the Day to all the contestants. Aburi Girls earned six out of 10, while both Dormaa SHS and St. Mary’s Seminary managed two points each.

The “JuPay True or False” round further strengthened Aburi Girls’ SHS’s lead, as they answered a string of questions correctly, widening the gap beyond their opponents.
The final round, the “GOIL Riddle Bonanza”, kept the tension high. The first riddle went unanswered, but St. Mary’s Seminary SHS redeemed themselves by solving the second correctly, while Dormaa SHS picked up the third after St. Mary’s missed it. St. Mary’s eventually managed two riddles, boosting their total to 26 points, as Dormaa SHS closed with 15 points.

Although Aburi Girls’ SHS failed to pick any riddle in the final round, their solid performance in the earlier stages kept them safely ahead with 48 points, securing their spot in the One-eighth Stage.
