NSMQ 2025: Abetifi Presby SHS Triumphs in a Thrilling Contest to Book One-eighth Stage Slot

Abetifi Presbyterian Senior High School has confidently booked their place in the One-eighth Stage of the 2025 National Science & Maths Quiz (NSMQ), after an impressive display that earned them 56 points, edging out Oti Boateng SHS and Sefwi Wiawso SHS in a spirited Preliminary contest.

The competition began with high energy as Abetifi Presby SHS and Oti Boateng SHS battled neck and neck for the early lead. At the end of Round One, Abetifi Presby SHS had gained the upper hand with 27 points, followed closely by Oti Boateng SHS with 22 points, while Sefwi Wiawso SHS lagged behind with five points.

The momentum carried into the Trustur AI Speed Race, Round Two, where both Abetifi Presby SHS and Oti Boateng SHS continued their close contest. The round ended with Abetifi Presby SHS maintaining a narrow lead of 38 points, as Oti Boateng SHS trailed slightly with 34 points, while Sefwi Wiawso remained at five points.

Round Three, the Prudential Life Insurance NSMQ Star (Problem of the Day), proved challenging for all three schools as they grappled with a demanding chemistry question. Abetifi Presby SHS and Oti Boateng SHS managed to earn two points each, while Sefwi Wiawso SHS secured just one point.

The turning point came in Round Four, the Jupay Money Transfer True or False, where Abetifi Presby SHS showcased remarkable accuracy by answering seven out of eight questions correctly, boosting their score to 53 points. Oti Boateng SHS followed with 43 points, and Sefwi Wiawso SHS improved slightly to 16 points.

In the final round, the GOIL Riddle Bonanza, both Abetifi Presby SHS and Oti Boateng SHS managed to pick two riddles each, while Sefwi Wiawso SHS were unable to secure additional points.

At the end of the contest, Abetifi Presby SHS emerged victorious with 56 points, setting a strong tone for the day’s contests and confidently advancing to the One-eighth Stage of the National Championship.
