NSMQ Central Regional Championship: Mfantsipim Beats ADISCO by Just Three Points

The second contest of the day in the Central Regional Championship featured five schools: Mfantsipim School (reigning NSMQ 2024 champions), St Andrews SHS, Assin State College, Adisadel College and Apam SHS.

The opening round was nothing short of explosive. Adisadel College took an early lead, racking up 26 points with confident precision. Mfantsipim School, known for their calm resilience, followed with 20 points. Apam SHS put up a solid effort with 15 points, while Assin State College and St Andrews SHS earned 13 and 12 points respectively. The contest was wide open and the energy in the room was electric.

Round Two saw a dramatic shift in momentum. Mfantsipim School clawed their way to the top, ending the round with 29 points. Adisadel College slipped slightly to second place with 24 points. Apam SHS added just a single point to reach 16, while Assin State College dropped to 12. St Andrews SHS struggled to keep pace, ending the round with eight points. The reigning champions had found their rhythm, but Adisadel were far from done.

Then came Round Three, a true turning point. Both Mfantsipim and Adisadel locked horns fiercely, and by the end of the round, they were tied neck and neck on 42 points each. Apam SHS showed steady progress, climbing to 30 points. Assin State College and St Andrews SHS found renewed strength, each closing the round with 22 points.
With Mfantsipim and Adisadel College tied going into the final round, the tension was palpable. Every question counted and every second mattered. In the end, Mfantsipim School edged ahead to finish with 48 points, while Adisadel College closed with 45. Apam SHS remained on 30 points. Assin State College advanced slightly to 25, and St Andrews SHS held at 22.

Mfantsipim School proved once again why they wear the national crown, delivering a performance worthy of champions and booking their place in the Grand Final of the Central Regional Championship.
