Archbishop Porter Girls’ SHS Triumphs in Final Preliminary Contest to Secure One-eighth Stage Spot!

The final contest of the Preliminary Stage of the 2025 National Science & Maths Quiz National Championship featured Oyoko Methodist SHS, Archbishop Porter Girls’ SHS, and Bueman SHS in what proved to be a thrilling academic showdown. The competition began in a calm and relaxed atmosphere, but it didn’t take long for excitement to fill the room.
At the end of Round One, Oyoko Methodist SHS took an early lead with 18 points, followed closely by Archbishop Porter Girls’ SHS with 17 points, while Bueman SHS trailed behind with 14 points.

In Round Two, the “Trustur AI Speed Race,” the contest’s intensity rose sharply. Archbishop Porter Girls’ SHS dazzled the audience with their speed, precision, and academic brilliance, answering question after question with confidence. Their impressive performance earned them the top spot with 24 points, while Bueman SHS and Oyoko Methodist SHS both tied at 18 points.
In Round Three, the “Prudential Life Insurance NSMQ Star Problem of the Day”, Bueman SHS took charge, scoring eight points, while Archbishop Porter Girls’ SHS followed closely with six points. Oyoko Methodist SHS managed two points, all out of 10.
Before Round Four, the “Jupay Money Transfer True/False” round, there were strategic substitutions, Henry replaced Kwame for Bueman SHS, while Vanessa came in for Erica from Archbishop Porter Girls’ SHS. The new energy on stage was evident as all three schools impressed with their sharp responses and composure. By the end of the round, Archbishop Porter Girls’ SHS had surged ahead with 43 points, Bueman SHS followed closely with 42 points, and Oyoko Methodist SHS secured 33 points.

In the fifth and final round, the GOIL Riddle Bonanza, tension filled the air as the fate of all three schools hung in the balance. Every question mattered, and every second counted. The contestants gave their all, matching intellect for intellect in a gripping finish.

When the final bell rang, Archbishop Porter Girls’ SHS emerged victorious with 46 points, securing their place in the One-eighth Stage of the 2025 National Championship.
Their outstanding performance also earned them the Pepsodent Highest Scorer Award, worth 1,000 Ghana cedis, a well-deserved recognition for their brilliance and teamwork.
