Keta Senior High Technical School has for the first time qualified for the Grand Finale of the National Science & Maths Quiz (NSMQ). They won the contest with 53 points, whereas their closest contender - Wesley Girls’ High School - scored 35 points at the end of the five rounds of the contest. Tamale SHS got 31 points. It was a keenly contested intellectual battle. Tamale SHS took an early lead, but the girls from Cape Coast would not allow that, taking the baton as the contest progressed. However, their lead was cut short by the team from Keta SHTS, popularly called the ‘Volta Varsity.’
The journey so far for Keta SHTS
Keta SHTS qualified for the Semifinals after winning their Quarter-final contest with 68 points. Their contenders, St. Louis SHS scored 51 points with Ghana National College scoring 45 points. Keta SHTS also emerged winners of the AirtelTigo Highest Scorer Award, worth GHS3000.00
Keta SHTS won its knockout stage contest with Fomena T.I. AMASS and Adventist SHS, Bantama. They successfully beat the two schools with 53 points at the end of the last round, to qualify to the Quarter-final stage of the contest.
