The NSMQ Review Show, hosted by Dr. (Pharm.) Stephen Nimo, delved into the strategies, performances, and defining moments of this year’s competition. Held on October 21, 2025 at the SGS Auditorium, the show offered sharp analysis and deep insight into schools’ preparations, achievements, and takeaways from the Preliminary Stage of the National Science & Maths Quiz.
This episode featured Mr. Frank Afriyie of Sunyani SHS and Mr. Ebenezer Agyemang of Our Lady of Grace SHS, who shared key strategies, experiences, and reflections from the Preliminary Stage of the 2025 NSMQ.

Both coordinators expressed optimism and readiness for this year’s championship, drawing on valuable lessons from previous contests.
Mr Ebenezer Agyemang, the coordinator for Our Lady of Grace SHS, revealed that his team began preparations immediately after their exit from last year’s One-eighth Stage. He noted that the experience had served as a major motivation for the school to return stronger this year.

“We have learnt from last year’s performance. We realised that we had to work on our Speed Race - and we did that. We have worked hard, and we are here again,” he stated confidently.
Our Lady of Grace SHS recently excelled in their Preliminary Stage contest, recording one of the highest scores in the competition with an impressive 71 points, a performance Mr Agyemang attributed to the dedication and focus of his team.
“My boys did well; they are good, and we will do more in the coming contests,” he added with enthusiasm.
On his part, Mr. Frank Afriyie, coordinator for Sunyani SHS, reflected on the remarkable return of Berekum Presby SHS to the National Championship after eight years, noting that their comeback did not come as a surprise.
“I am not surprised because they have been away for some years, but each year they prepared and really planned, even when they couldn’t make it. So, I am not surprised,” he remarked.

Both coordinators also shared their expectations for the upcoming contests, expressing confidence in their schools’ performances as the competition progresses.
The discussion underscored the determination and evolving strategies of schools participating in this year’s NSMQ as they aim to surpass past records and achieve national glory.
