St. Hubert Minor Seminary Senior High School has pulled off a dramatic upset, defeating seeded Mawuli School and Konongo-Odumase Senior High School to reclaim seeded status and book their place in the Quarter-final Stage.
The victory was significant for St. Hubert Min. Sem., who lost their seeded status to Adisadel College in 2025. This time, they returned determined to reclaim it and they did so by knocking out Mawuli School, who entered the 2026 NSMQ as a seeded school.

The contest began with Mawuli School taking the early initiative. They answered with confidence to finish Round One at the top with 20 points, while St. Hubert Min. Sem. SHS followed with 15 points and Konongo-Odumase SHS trailed with nine points.
St. Hubert Min. Sem. SHS came alive in the Truster AI Speed Race, producing a series of accurate answers to rapidly close the gap and eventually leapfrog Mawuli School. Their impressive run propelled them to 26 points, while Mawuli slipped to 18 points. Konongo-Odumase also lost a point, dropping to eight points.
The momentum was now firmly with St. Hubert Min. Sem. SHS. In the Prudential Life Insurance Problem of the Day, they continued to strengthen their position, scoring six of the available 10 points to extend their lead to 32 points. Mawuli School and Konongo-Odumase SHS each managed four points, moving to 22 and 12 points respectively.
Mawuli School refused to surrender in the fourth round. They produced a clean sheet, answering all the True or False questions correctly to claim the GH₵700 JuPay Money Transfer Clean Sheet Award and surge to 38 points.
St. Hubert Min. Sem. SHS, however, remained in control. They continued adding points to reach 45, while Konongo-Odumase SHS moved to 16 points.

Ahead of GOIL Riddle Bonanza, the auditorium was charged with anticipation. The result would determine whether Mawuli could complete a comeback or St. Hubert Min. Sem. SHS would finish their mission of reclaiming seeded status. Mawuli School struck first, answering the opening two riddles. St. Hubert Min. Sem.
