Saviour Senior High School from the Eastern Region has secured its first-ever place in the Quarter-final Stage of the 2026 National Championship, after defeating seeded Swedru Secondary School and Kpando SHS, forcing Swedru SHS to surrender its seeded status.

Saviour SHS topped the second contest of the One-eighth Stage with 45 points, narrowly beating Kpando SHS, who finished with 42 points. Swedru SHS ended the contest in third place with 26 points. The victory means Saviour SHS takes over Swedru SHS’s seeded status and advances to the Quarter-finals for the first time in the school’s history.

The contest was proficiently moderated by Quiz Mistress Mrs. Rachel Annoh, whose characteristic clarity, balance and firmness ensured a smooth and credible contest from start to finish. In the Jupay Money Transfer True/False round, the contest further intensified. Saviour SHS maintained its lead with 39 points, Kpando SHS followed with 36 points, and Swedru SHS, while held 26 points, setting up a tense finale.

The final round, the GOIL Ghana Riddle Bonanza, proved decisive, where Saviour SHS fought hard and kept its composure in the riddle round to come out on top, but Kpando SHS gave a brilliant contest and pushed the eventual winners to the limit.

Swedru SHS, despite entering the contest as the seeded school with high expectations, failed to recover from their early deficit and ultimately lost their seeded status at the end of the day.
