NSMQ 2026: Pope John SHS & Min. Sem. Secure Quarter-final Spot with GH₵2,300 in Prizes!

The second contest of the day at the CNC Auditorium featured Pope John SHS & Minor Seminary, Sogakope SHS and Sonrise Christian High School.

Round One, the General Questions round, favoured Pope John SHS & Min. Sem., who finished with 24 points after picking up several bonus points from questions missed by their opponents. Sonrise Christian High School followed with nine points, while Sogakope SHS had three points.

Pope John SHS & Min. Sem. continued to lead in Round Two, the Trustur AI Speed Race, picking up most of the questions to increase its tally to 35 points. Sonrise Christian High School and Sogakope SHS both moved to 11 points.

In Round Three, the Prudential Life Insurance NSMQ Star, Problem of the Day, Sogakope SHS made the most of the round, answering all questions correctly to win the NSMQ Star Prize of GH₵2,400. Pope John SHS & Min. Sem. and Sonrise Christian High School each answered nine questions correctly. Despite Sogakope's perfect score, Pope John SHS & Min. Sem. maintained its lead, ending the round with 44 points, while Sonrise Christian High School moved to 22 points and Sogakope SHS to 21 points.

Pope John SHS & Min. Sem. strengthened its position in Round Four, the Jupay Money Transfer True/False round, answering all the questions correctly to claim the Jupay Clean Sheet Award of GH₵700. The school reached 60 points, while Sonrise Christian High School moved to 30 and Sogakope SHS to 25 points.

In Round Five, the GOIL Riddle Bonanza, Pope John SHS & Min. Sem. answered all four riddles correctly to win GH₵1,600, taking its total prize winnings to GH₵2,300. Pope John SHS & Min. Sem. finished the contest with 72 points to secure a place in the Quarter-final Stage. Sonrise Christian High School finished second with 30 points, while Sogakope SHS ended the contest with 25 points.
