NSMQ 2026: Mfantsipim School Beat the Girls in ‘Ayɛka’ Contest, Advance to Quarter-finals!

The auditorium was packed and anticipation was high as the 2025 Champions, Mfantsipim School, faced Wesley Girls’ High School and Afua Kobi Ampem SHS in a highly anticipated ‘Ayɛka’ contest.


Round One, the General Questions round, started evenly, with all three schools trading questions and bonus opportunities. Mfantsipim School missed one of its questions, allowing Wesley Girls’ High School to pick up the bonus.



Wesley Girls’ High School finished the round in the lead with 21 points, followed by Mfantsipim School with 18 points and Afua Kobi Ampem SHS with 17 points.


The momentum shifted in Round Two, the Trustur AI Speed Race, as Mfantsipim School came out strongly, answering most of the questions to take control of the contest. The 2025 Champions surged to 40 points, while Wesley Girls’ High School moved to 24 points and Afua Kobi Ampem SHS reached 14 points.



Mfantsipim School maintained its lead in Round Three, the Prudential Life Insurance NSMQ Star, Problem of the Day, although none of the three schools managed the perfect 10 out of 10 required to win the GH₵2,400 NSMQ Star Prize. Mfantsipim School increased its tally to 47 points, while Wesley Girls’ High School moved to 28 points and Afua Kobi Ampem Girls’ SHS reached 16 points.


In Round Four, the Jupay Money Transfer True/False round, both Mfantsipim School and Wesley Girls’ High School came close to securing the GH₵700 Jupay Clean Sheet Prize, but each missed one question. Mfantsipim School nevertheless extended its lead to 60 points, while Wesley Girls’ High School moved to 41 points and Afua Kobi Ampem Girls’ SHS reached 26 points.


Mfantsipim School closed out the contest in Round Five, the GOIL Riddle Bonanza, answering two of the four riddles to finish on 66 points. Wesley Girls’ High School answered one riddle to end on 48 points, while Afua Kobi Ampem Girls’ SHS remained on 26 points.

Mfantsipim School also received the Pepsodent Highest Scorer Award, worth GH₵2,000, for recording the highest score in the contest.
