Mankranso Senior High School, who reached the Semi-final Stage of the 2025 National Science & Maths Quiz for the first time, and earned seeded status for the first time, could not replicate that run at the 2026 National Championship, bowing out at the One-eighth Stage after losing to Chemu Senior High Technical School.
Chemu SHTS won the contest with 52 points to secure a place in the Quarter-final Stage and regain its seeded status after losing it to Tamale SHS in 2024.

Chemu SHTS seized control immediately in Round one, putting distance between themselves and their opponents. They accumulated 21 points, while Anglican SHS, KSI managed 14 and Mankranso SHS could only muster six points.
The gap widened in the Truster AI Speed Race. Chemu continued to demonstrate speed and accuracy, adding eight points to move to 29 points. Anglican SHS, KSI responded strongly to reach 23 points, but Mankranso SHS remained stranded on six points, unable to close the growing deficit.
The Prudential Life Insurance Problem of the Day offered Mankranso SHS an opportunity to recover, but it was not enough to change the direction of the contest. Chemu SHTS delivered another strong performance, picking up seven points to extend their tally to 36. Anglican SHS, Ksi added nine points to move to 32, while Mankranso SHS managed just three points, taking their score to nine.
By the fourth round, the contest had become a battle between Chemu SHTS and Anglican SHS, Ksi with Mankranso SHS struggling to stay within touching distance. The Jupay Money Transfer True or False Round saw Chemu SHTS push further ahead to 45 points. Anglican SHS, KSI remained in pursuit with 42 points, while Mankranso SHS finally added seven points to reach 16 points.

Heading into the GOIL Riddle Bonanza, the outcome appeared difficult for Mankranso to influence. Chemu SHTS answered two riddles, while Anglican SHS, KSI secured one. The final scores confirmed Chemu SHT’S dominance: 52 points, followed by Anglican SHS, KSI with 46 points. Mankranso ended the contest with just 16 points.
Mankranso entered this year’s championship with the distinction of a seeded school after reaching the Semi-final Stage of the 2025 NSMQ, but their latest campaign unravelled almost from the opening questions.
