NSMQ 2026: Bishop Herman College, Kpando SHS and Konongo Odumase SHS Advance to the One-eighth Stage!

Main Auditorium - 23 August,2026 Day four of the Preliminary Stage contest, started with, Bishop Herman College, Yaa Asantewaa Girls' SHS and debutant, Dabala SHTS.

Bishop Herman College led from Round One, scoring 24 points, and steadily extended its advantage through the Trustur AI Speed Race and the Prudential Life Insurance NSMQ Star, reaching 37 points by Round Three.

Dabala SHTS and Yaa Asantewaa Girls' SHS both made gains in Round Four, the Jupay Money Transfer True/False round, but Bishop Herman College maintained its lead and went on to win the GOIL Riddle Bonanza, finishing the contest on 47 points. Dabala SHTS placed second with 37 points, while Yaa Asantewaa Girls' SHS ended with 27 points.

Making its first appearance in the competition, Dabala SHTS put up a strong showing, staying ahead of Yaa Asantewaa Girls' SHS throughout the contest. With the victory, Bishop Herman College advances to the next stage of the competition.

Kpando Senior High School produced a dominant performance in Contest 37 of the 2026 National Science & Maths Quiz, comfortably defeating Abor Senior High School and Jukwa Senior High Technical School.

The contest was firmly in Kpando Senior High School’s control from the start, as the school opened Round One, with 25 points, more than double Jukwa Senior High Technical School’s 13 and Abor Senior High School’s eight.

Kpando SHS extended its lead in Round Two, the Trustur AI Speed Race, surging to 40 points, while Abor SHS and Jukwa SHTS recorded 11 and 10 points respectively. By Round Three, the Prudential Life Insurance NSMQ Star, Kpando SHS had increased its tally to 48 points.

The lead grew further in Round Four, the Jupay Money Transfer True/False round, with Kpando SHS reaching 61 points. Abor SHS responded with 29, while Jukwa SHTS moved to 18.

Kpando SHS completed the contest in Round Five, the GOIL Riddle Bonanza, finishing with 67 points to secure a convincing victory. The school also claimed the Pepsodent Top Scorer Award, worth GH₵1,000. Abor Senior High School finished second with 35 points, while Jukwa SHTS ended with 18 points.

Following their defeat at the One-eighth Stage last year, Konongo Odumase Senior High School returned to the competition with a hard-fought victory in Contest 40, overcoming a determined challenge from Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Girls' Senior High School and Juaben Senior High School.

The contest opened tightly, with Konongo Odumase Senior High School and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Girls' Senior High School separated by a single point after Round One, the General Questions round, with 22 and 21 points respectively. Juaben Senior High School followed with 16 points.

Round Two, the Trustur AI Speed Race, saw Juaben Senior High School close the gap significantly, moving to 24 points, just three behind Konongo Odumase Senior High School, which reached 27. Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Girls' Senior High School, meanwhile, had 20 points.

The contest remained closely contested through Round Three, the Prudential Life Insurance NSMQ Star, with Konongo Odumase Senior High School edging further ahead to 32 points. Juaben Senior High School and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Girls' Senior High School recorded 24 and 21 points respectively.

Konongo Odumase Senior High School began to pull clear in Round Four, the Jupay Money Transfer True/False round, increasing its tally to 39 points. Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Girls' SHS scored 31 points, while Juaben SHS reached 25 points.

Konongo Odumase Senior High School held firm in Round Five, the GOIL Riddle Bonanza, to secure victory with 45 points. Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Girls' Senior High School finished second with 31 points, while Juaben Senior High School ended the contest with 28 points.
