NSMQ 2026: Achimota School Blazes Past Adisadel College, Boa Amponsem to Reach Semi-finals!

Achimota School has stormed into the Semi-final Stage of the 2026 National Science & Maths Quiz after delivering an excellent performance against Adisadel College and Boa Amponsem SHS in the Quarter-final Stage.

From the opening question to the final riddle, Achimota School steadily tightened its grip on the contest, leaving its opponents chasing for much of the battle. Achimota soared ahead in the opening round, scoring 15 points, just one point ahead of Adisadel College’s 14, while Boa Amponsem SHS started on eight points.

The contest began to tilt decisively in Achimota School’s favour in the Truster AI Speed Race. They surged to 25 points, adding 10 points to their tally. Adisadel College also added four points to reach 18, leaving Boa Amponsem SHS at 13.

Achimota School then produced another strong challenge in the Prudential Life Insurance NSMQ Problem of the Day, adding eight points. The problem seemed difficult for the opponents as they attempted but failed.  Adisadel College and Boa Amponsem SHS did not add any points and remained on 14 and eight respectively.

But it was the Jupay Money Transfer True/False Round that transformed Achimota SHS’s lead into a commanding advantage. They exploded to 49 points, adding a remarkable 24 points in the round.  Achimota School kept a clean sheet in the true or false questions and earned the Jupay Clean Sheet Prize of GH₵900. Adisadel College managed to move to 25, while Boa Amponsem SHS reached 20 points.

With the contest entering its final stretch, Achimota had built a mountain for its opponents to climb. The GOIL Super Bonanza brought the final opportunity for a dramatic turnaround. Boa Amponsem SHS answered one riddle, while Achimota successfully answered two. Adisadel College also took the final riddle to bring the contest to a close.

Achimota School won the contest with 55 points, comfortably ahead of Adisadel College with 28 points and Boa Amponsem SHS with 23 points.

Each school also won a cash prize in the GOIL Super Bonanza. Achimota School took home GH₵1,000 for answering both riddles, while Adisadel College and Boa Amponsem SHS received GH₵500 each for answering one riddle apiece.
