NSMQ 2026: Aburi Girls’ Stages Stunning Comeback, Becomes First Girls’ School to Book Quarter-finals Seat!

Aburi Girls’ Senior High School staged a remarkable comeback to defeat St. Joseph’s Seminary Senior High School and Fafraha Community Senior High School in a thrilling contest to secure their place in the Quarter-final Stage.



The contest began on an even footing, with the three schools taking turns to answer questions in Round One. St. Joseph’s Seminary SHS established an early lead with 17 points, while Fafraha Community SHS followed closely with 12 points and Aburi Girls’ SHS with 11 points.


Aburi Girls’ SHS then began to find their rhythm in the Truster AI Speed Race, adding six points to their tally move to 17 points. St. Joseph’s Seminary SHS, meanwhile, lost two points to drop to 15, while Fafraha Community SHS lost five points and fell to seven points.



The Prudential Life Insurance (Problem of the Day) proved difficult for all three schools as they tackled a Chemistry problem. Aburi Girls’ SHS managed just one point to move to 18 points, while St. Joseph’s Seminary SHS added two points to reach 17. Fafraha Community SHS picked up one point to move to eight points.


The momentum shifted decisively in the Jupay Money Transfer True or False Round, as Aburi Girls’ SHS produced a flawless performance by answering all the True or False questions correctly. Their impressive run earned them the GH₵700 Jupay Cleansheet Award and propelled them into the lead with 32 points. St. Joseph’s Seminary SHS could only manage 20 points, while Fafraha Community SHS remained with nine points.



The GOIL Riddle Bonanza Round saw Aburi Girl’s SHS secure their lead. They successfully answered two riddles, while Fafraha Community SHS managed one. With the final scores settling at 38 points for Aburi Girls’ SHS, 20 for St. Joseph’s Seminary SHS and 12 for Fafraha Community SHS, Aburi Girls’ SHS completed a stunning turnaround.
