After a thrilling contest, St Peter’s Senior High School once again reigned supreme over Okuapemman School, sealing their third straight victory, this time at the National Championship of the National Science & Maths Quiz. Their triumph also earned them a well-deserved ticket to the Quarter-final Stage, edging out Osei Kyeretwie SHS in the process.

The contest began on a tense note, with Osei Kyeretwie SHS taking an impressive early lead in the first round, scoring 22 points, followed by Okuapemman School with 18 points, while St. Peter’s SHS followed with 15 points.
In Round Two, the Trustur AI Speed Race, Osei Kyeretwie SHS maintained their momentum by adding two points to reach 24, while St. Peter’s SHS made steady progress, adding four marks to reach 19 points. Okuapemman School, however, lost a mark, dropping to 17 points.
Round Three, the Prudential Life Insurance NSMQ Star (Problem of the Day), saw Okuapemman School mount a comeback, solving the problem to earn seven out of 10 points, moving to 24 points. St. Peter’s SHS and Osei Kyeretwie SHS tied at 25 points after scoring six and one point respectively, setting the stage for a heated showdown.
Momentum shifted dramatically in Round Four, Jupay Money Transfer True/False as St. Peter’s SHS surged into the lead, adding 10 points to reach 35, narrowly ahead of Okuapemman School with 34 points, and Osei Kyeretwie SHS close behind with 32.

The contest had now become anyone’s game in Round Five, GOIL Riddle Bonanza. The atmosphere in the auditorium was silent as the quiz mistress, Dr. Thelma Ohene-Agyei, began reading the riddles. St. Peter’s SHS picked the first, Okuapemman School answered the second, and Osei Kyeretwie SHS claimed the third and the fourth resulting in a tie between St. Peter’s SHS and Osei Kyeretwie SHS, both at 38 points.

To break the tie, Dr. Thelma Ohene-Agyei posed a speed race question. With nerves of steel, Mintah of St. Peter’s SHS buzzed in with the correct answer, sending the entire auditorium into wild applause.
After a fiercely contested battle of intellect, St. Peter’s SHS maintained their seed and advanced to the Quarter-final Stage.
