NSMQ 2025: Osei Tutu SHS Beat WASS and Hohoe E.P. to Qualify for Quarter-final Stage

The first contest at the CNC Auditorium, on Day Two of the One-eighth Stage, saw Osei Tutu SHS emerge as the winners with 43 points, after beating West Africa SHS and Hohoe E.P. SHS. They qualified for the Quarter-final, and sent their opponents packing.


The contest began on a tense note, with supporters from all three schools silently gripping their hopes as the first round kicked off. All three schools stumbled with their opening questions but quickly regained stability. At the end, Osei Tutu and West Africa SHS tied at 16 points, while Hohoe E.P. SHS scored 12 points.

Osei Tutu SHS bounced back strongly in the “Trustur AI Speed Race”, demonstrating impressive speed and precision to take the lead with 24 points. West Africa SHS dropped two points to finish the round with 14, while Hohoe E.P. SHS lost three points, bringing their total to nine.

The Chemistry Problem of the Day demanded precision in both chemical equations and unit representation. West Africa SHS struggled with the question and managed only one point.


Hohoe E.P. SHS wrote the correct equation and attempted the solution but faltered midway, earning four points. Osei Tutu SHS solved the problem correctly and would have claimed the Prudential Life Insurance NSMQ Star Award but for the omission of the required unit, finishing the round with nine out of ten points.

Contestants took turns answering the true or false questions in the “JuPay True or False” Round. In the end, Osei Tutu had extended their lead to 43 points. West Africa SHS and Hohoe E.P. SHS followed with 30 and 18 points, respectively.


In the final round, the “GOIL Riddle Bonanza” Osei Tutu SHS, after failing to answer any riddle, won the contest with 43 points. West Africa SHS answered two riddles to secure second place with 36 points. Hohoe E.P. SHS answered one riddle and exited the contest with 21 points.
