NSMQ 2025: Fijai SHS Qualifies for One-eighth Stage After Tight Battle with Nsutaman Catholic School

Fijai Senior High School, a top runner-up from the Western Region, has booked a place in the One-eighth Stage of the 2025 National Science & Maths Quiz, after an intense contest that kept the audience on edge. Fijai SHS triumphed with 37 points, narrowly edging out Nsutaman Catholic SHS, who finished with 36 points, while Oda SHS ended with 24 points.

The first round began at a relatively slow pace, with Fijai SHS taking an early lead with 12 points. Nsutaman Catholic School and Oda SHS followed closely with nine and eight points respectively.

In the second round, the Trustur AI Speed Race, Fijai SHS maintained their lead, increasing their tally to 15 points. Nsutaman Catholic School trailed closely with 12 points, while Oda lost some ground, dropping to five points.


The third round, the Prudential Life Insurance NSMQ Star (Problem of the Day), saw Fijai SHS displaying impressive accuracy, scoring six out of 10 points to bring their total to 21. Nsutaman Catholic School also put up a strong effort with five out of 10, moving up to 17 points, while Oda SHS managed two points, bringing their total to seven points.

Round Four, the Jupay Money Transfer True or False, ignited the competition. Nsutaman Catholic SHS mounted a fierce comeback, answering most questions correctly to add 16 points and close the gap with a total of 33. However, Fijai SHS matched their pace and also added 16 points, extending their lead to 37. Oda SHS improved their performance, reaching

23 points.

The final round, the GOIL Riddle Bonanza, was filled with tension as teams raced to ring the buzzer. Nsutaman Catholic SHS answered one riddle correctly, inching up to 36 points, while Oda SHS also picked one. Fijai SHS, though unable to answer any riddles, held on to their 37 points to seal victory.

At the end of the contest, Fijai SHS emerged victorious with 37 points, earning their place in the One-eighth Stage of the National Science & Maths Quiz. The narrow one-point margin kept spectators thrilled, marking yet another memorable moment in the 2025 NSMQ preliminaries.
