NSMQ 2025: Amaniampong SHS Makes History, Triumphs in their First-ever Quarter-final Appearance!

Amaniampong Senior High School made a bold statement in their first-ever Quarter-final appearance that will not be forgotten anytime soon. In a thrilling contest, the Kontonkyis stunned Osei Tutu SHS and St James Seminary SHS with an impressive 43 points, earning not only their maiden Semi-final berth but also a coveted seeded spot after years of trying.

The first round began with all three schools tackling questions with fierce determination to advance. Amaniampong SHS quickly took control, seizing every question and bonus that came their way. By the end of Round One, they had amassed 19 points, followed closely by Osei Tutu SHS and St James Seminary SHS, who levelled at 16 points.


In the Trustur AI Speed Race, Amaniampong SHS maintained a strong start. Osei Tutu SHS, however, found their rhythm midway through the round, answering questions with remarkable precision. Their accurate responses pushed them into the lead with 27 points, just two points ahead of Amaniampong SHS on 24 points, while St James Seminary SHS trailed with 11 points.

The Prudential Life Insurance NSMQ Star Problem of the Day featured a Physics question that proved challenging for all three schools. None managed to solve it correctly, prompting the quiz mistress to remark, “This was indeed a real problem for the schools.”


In the JuPay Money Transfer True or False Round, all schools put up an impressive performance. Amaniampong SHS, however, took full control and ended with 40 points. Osei Tutu SHS added 10 points to reach 37, while St James Seminary SHS followed with 27 points.


The GOIL Super Bonanza Round proved to be the decider of the contest. After all three schools missed the first riddle, Amaniampong SHS picked the second correctly to extend their lead. St James Seminary SHS answered the third, while Osei Tutu SHS claimed the final one. In the end, Amaniampong SHS emerged victorious, securing their much-awaited first-ever appearance in the Semi-finals. Osei Tutu SHS followed closely with 40 points, while St James Seminary SHS bowed out with 30 points.

In addition to their victory, Amaniampong SHS earned GH₵500 for answering one riddle correctly in the GOIL Super Bonanza Round and GH₵1,720 from the MoMo Money Zone, bringing their total cash prize to GH₵2,220. Osei Tutu SHS walked away with GH₵500 for solving a riddle and GH₵1,600 from the MoMo Money Zone. St James SHS also took home GH₵500 from the GOIL Super Bonanza and GH₵1,200 from the MoMo Money Zone.
