NSMQ 2025: Achimota School Books Quarter-final Spot with Impressive 68 Points!

The final contest of the One-eighth Stage of the National Championship saw Achimota School, a seeded contender, deliver a dominant performance against Krobo Girls’ Presbyterian SHS and Simms SHS. Achimota School maintained its seed and advanced to the Quarter-final Stage with an outstanding 68 points, earning the Pepsodent Highest Scorer of the Day award worth GH₵2,000.

The contest began with all three schools making a strong attempt to take the lead. At the end of the first round, Achimota School had established a slight advantage with 24 points, while Krobo Girls’ Presbyterian SHS followed closely with 16 points, and Simms SHS followed with seven points.

In Round Two, the Trustur AI Speed Race, Achimota School surged ahead by correctly answering most of the speed race questions, adding 23 points to their tally to reach 47 points. Krobo Girls’ Presbyterian SHS, however, lost some points due to incorrect answers, dropping to 12 points, while Simms SHS finished the round with four points after also losing marks.

Round Three, the Prudential Life Insurance NSMQ Star (Problem of the Day), featured a biology question. Both Krobo Girls’ Presbyterian SHS and Simms SHS made attempts and earned three points each, bringing their totals to 15 and seven points, respectively. Achimota School further extended its lead with five points, raising their total to 52 points.

Before the start of Round Four, the Jupay Money Transfer True/False, Achimota School made a substitution, bringing in David for Kwame. Krobo Girls’ Presbyterian SHS, however, showed remarkable composure, sweeping all the True or False questions to gain 16 points and move to 31 points. Achimota School maintained a comfortable lead by adding 10 points to reach 62 points, while Simms SHS added seven points, finishing the round with 14 points.

In the final round, the GOIL Riddle Bonanza, Achimota School quickly picked the first two riddles to seal their victory with 68 points. Krobo Girls’ Presbyterian SHS managed to pick the last riddle to end the contest with 34 points, while Simms SHS, unable to secure any riddle, concluded with 14 points.

With this impressive score, Achimota School comfortably retains its seed and books a place in the Quarter-final Stage of the 2025 National Championship.
