NSMQ 2025: Achimota School Avenges 2024 Loss, Knocks Out Keta SHTS to Secure Semi-final Spot

The final contest of the Quarter-final Stage of the 2025 National Science & Maths Quiz saw three formidable schools, including two Regional Champions, face off in a fierce battle. The contest featured Greater Accra Regional Champions, Achimota School; Volta-Oti Regional Champions, Keta SHTS; and Koforidua Secondary Technical School. The competition was intense from the very beginning, as all three schools fiercely vied for dominance in the first round.

At the end of Round One, Achimota School took the lead with 20 points, KSTS followed closely with 18 points, and Keta SHTS trailed with 11 points.
In Round Two, the Trustur AI Speed Race, the competition intensified as all three schools grappled with the questions. With their speed and accuracy on the line, the battle of wits and brilliance continued. Addressing a mispronunciation concern, Quiz Mistress, Professor Elsie Effah Kaufmann, recounted a comment made by the Chairman of Primetime Limited, Dr. Kwaku Mensa-Bonsu, about Achimota School twenty years ago, which sparked laughter among the audience. At the end of the intense round, Achimota School maintained their lead with 27 points, KSTS continued the chase with 25 points, and Keta SHTS lagged behind with 10 points.

Before the start of Round Three, the Prudential Life Insurance NSMQ Star Problem of the Day, Benjamin of Keta SHTS was brought in to replace Spencer. At the end of the round, Achimota School attained a perfect score of 10 out of 10, earning them the title of Prudential Life Insurance NSMQ Star. Keta SHTS followed with eight points, while KSTS managed one point.

In Round Four, the JuPay Money Transfer True or False round, all three schools delivered impressive performances. However, KSTS and Keta SHTS could not catch up with Achimota School. At the end of the round, Achimota School led with 47 points, Keta SHTS followed with 28 points, and KSTS trailed with 27 points.

In the fifth and final round, the GOIL Super Bonanza round, Achimota School sealed their victory with 50 points, booking a seat in the Semi-final Stage.
They also won GH₵ 500 cedis for answering one riddle correctly in the GOIL Super Bonanza round and GH₵ 2,000 from the MoMo Money Zone.

KSTS also earned GH₵ 500 cedis for answering one riddle correctly and GH₵ 1,240 from the
MoMo Money Zone

Keta earned GH₵ 1,000 for answering two riddles correctly and GH₵ 1,360 from the MoMo Money Zone
